A polar bear mother and her cubs play on Barter Island, Alaska, before the ice sets in. In a matter of weeks or even days the water could be transformed to ice and the bears will head north to begin their search for food. The temperatures in the Arctic this year were unusually warm. Wildlife photographer, Jon Cornforth from Seattle says: “This is their time to play before the ice comes and they have to start seriously looking for food.” Picture: Jon Cornforth / Barcroft Media
